Wolf Gowin had been for four years until 1991 the poetry coordinator of monthly readings at MARS Artspace, a non-profit artist organization in Phoenix, AZ. The reading series was called Divergent Arts Poetry Series and featured poets and fiction writers from the entire State of Arizona.
Gowin co-founded 1990 a reading series at Houle Books, a bookstore in Phoenix, AZ, at 36 East Camelback. The reading series (Readings at Houle's) featured renown writers residing in the southwestern states.
Gowin was the co-founder of THEATRE OF OUTRAGE & EXCELLENCE (1990-1992), a writer/performance art group from Phoenix, AZ, which performed at gallery spaces. The group showed experimental controversial work dealing with social issues.
He has produced and directed a Literature Performance Series (1990-1991) featuring audiotaped readings of controversial subject matters written by famous American writers and live performances by Arizona artists.
Gowin provided the concept and organization of an exhibition exchange program with German visual artists. Through his efforts artists selected by NEUE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR BILDENDE KUNST, Berlin, Germany, were able to show their art in November 1991 at MARS Artspace, Phoenix, AZ. He coordinated the set-up of another International Exchange Show Germany - USA in 1995 between Galerie M in Berlin and LA Artcore Center in Los Angeles.
